Original handmade enamel tile in ceramic frame.
Enamel is a material made by fusing powdered glass to a substrate by firing, usually between 750 and 850 °C (1,380 and 1,560 °F). The powder melts, flows, and then hardens to a smooth, durable vitreous coating on metal, or on glass or ceramics.
The term "enamel" is most often restricted to work on metal. Enameled glass is also called "painted." Fired enamelware is an integrated layered composite of glass and metal.
The product you order will be as close to the photo as possible. However, please keep in mind that each item is a unique piece of art, and slight color and size variations are normal and are the distinctive marks of handmade work.
